Goodbye mobile homes. Hello glamping

Camping is growing in popularity across Europe, the US and Canada, as more and more people discover the joys of getting closer to nature. But the old days of roughing it, are gone. People want to camp in style and, rather than opting for a basic tent, or an outdated mobile home, they are choosing glamping.

Campsites are replacing mobile homes with glamping tents
Over the last couple of years, a growing number of campsite owners have replaced old and tired mobile homes and chalets with luxury safari tents to create glamping fields. Consumers want to try something new, and glamping, which offers style and luxury, appeals to a large group of people who may never have considered a camping holiday before. Safari tents and lodges not only offer the facilities these guests demand, but also improve the general appearance of campsites and broaden their appeal to potential holidaymakers.

The demand for luxury
Mobile homes are often outdated and basic. They no longer meet the expectations of potential guests who want more luxurious, shorter breaks. They are looking for a glamorous, but affordable stay in accommodation that provides a real home from home. A glamping tent, complete with its own bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and perhaps a hot tub, offers just that. The mobile home, as we know it, simply no longer makes the grade.

Glamping tents: increase your revenue throughout the season
If you own a campsite with mobile homes or chalets, there is a good chance that you rent these out to regular guests each season, or perhaps even permanently. They may pay you a fixed amount each year, which sounds like a good deal because it’s income you can count on. But, you could earn more by renting glamping tents throughout the season. We are seeing high demand for glamping in the pre- and post-season (April until October) extending the period in which you can rely on a steady stream of guests. Your regular mobile home guests may be interested in trying glamping – and in staying for longer – but you can also rent out glamping tents to a wider pool of potential guests.

To make the most of your accommodation, it’s a good idea to join external booking parties. They help you to increase your occupancy rate by bringing your destination to the attention of their target group.
